Why EU Hosting Matters
Where your data lives determines what laws protect it. US-based services are subject to the CLOUD Act, which allows government access to data stored by American companies—even if the servers are overseas. FISA courts can issue secret surveillance orders. Magicall is made by Symbolic Software, a small cryptography consultancy in Paris. We're not a VC-funded unicorn chasing growth metrics. We're not a subsidiary of a trillion-dollar surveillance company. We're just cryptographers who wanted to build something we'd actually trust ourselves.
Our team has conducted 250+ security audits for companies like Coinbase, Mozilla, 1Password, and yes—even Zoom. We know where security goes wrong, because we've spent years finding those problems for others. Magicall is us building what we've always wanted to exist.

We believe in transparency. Magicall isn't for everyone, and that's okay. Here's when we make sense—and when you might want something else:

- Webinars with hundreds of attendees: We're built for conversations, not broadcast. For large-scale webinars, look elsewhere.
- If you need cloud recording: We don't record calls (that's the point). If you need recordings, you'll need to use local screen recording software.
