Why we built this
Video calling should be simple and secure. But most tools are either bloated with features nobody asked for, or they treat your data as a product to be harvested.
We wanted something different: a video call tool that's dead simple to use, doesn't require downloads, and is actually secure by design—not just by policy.
Magicall uses end-to-end encryption: your video, audio, and chat messages are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before they ever leave your device. We also provide short authentication strings (SAS) so you can verify you're talking to who you think you are. We don't record or store your calls.
Note on browser-based encryption: Like all browser-based encryption, you trust that we serve you the correct JavaScript code. The encryption runs in your browser, but we control what code is served. This is a fundamental limitation of web-based E2E encryption that applies to all browser apps. How it works →
